Deaths linked to terrorism are up by 60%



As Western governments grapple with heightened apprehension about the spread of Islamic militancy, an independent study found the number of fatalities related to terrorism soared 60% last year. Of the 17,958 people who died in terrorist attacks in 2013, 82% of them were in 5 countries: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Syria.
